Director Theo Meow: “With WERKHALLE 9, I tried to capture a personal fantasy of mine on film. For the main roles, I casted queer performers Salty and Finn Peaks, who are also enthusiastic about martial arts and erotic playfighting in their private lives. Together, we developed a detailed choreography where the sporty competition turns into a sexual encounter. Supported by 19 extras and 12 crew members, we turned the basement of an abandoned power plant into a movie set and put the idea into practice.

Theo Meow is a science journalist by day and a smut filmmaker by night. In his films, he tries to explore the subversive powers of sensuality and to find eroticism in unusual places. His secret passion is to discover new obscure fetishes, like those for asparagus, instant noodles, or agar-agar.
He directed numerous short films including HANNA & THE KETA-BOYS (2016), was the director of photography at Maria Beatty’s SPIT & ASHES (2019), and co-directed HUNGER (2019) for Erika Lust’s XConfessions series. Together with Candy Flip, he released his first feature film, THE SAD GIRLS OF THE MOUNTAINS.
